PROFILE


                          Born in the U.K., Arline studied at Liverpool College of Art and, on graduation, was invited to join The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford, U.K. as a costumier. She later moved to the Prop Department where she  established and ran the Personal Properties division. 

 Arline left the theatre and moved to Italy for a year, where she taught English as a private tutor in Rome.

 On returning to London, England, an opportunity arose to work at Cosprop, an Oscar-winning costume house. There Arline developed the historic jewellery department; buying and making jewellery for many internationaly known costume dramas. Besides producing work for Madame Tussaud's Museum in London, she was the jewellery designer and fabricator for Hal Roth's original production of  the musical "Evita".  She has made pieces for such notables as Bette Davis, Dame Judy Dench, Dame Peggy Ashcroft, Lee Remick, Clair Bloom, Dame Helen Mirren and many other leading ladies.

  Arline emigrated to Canada in 1980 where she continued her theatrical work for companies such as The Canadian Opera Company and Toronto Arts Productions (which later became Centrestage). Her experience in the theatre eventually led her to become involved in the movie, television and advertising industries.

 In 1994, Arline was awarded the Canada 125th Anniversary Medal by the Federal Government, for community work.

 Since moving to Port Hope, Arline has focussed her attention on developing her ideas related to small-scale works and theatrical productions.
